I think I'm going to badge/stripe the Murcie up as a 'Polizia' traffic car for a laugh at Le Mans this year. I've organised the graphics and logos (green/yellow chevrons down the side and rear) and got hold of a company willing to supply a similar blue flashing lightbar to the Gallardo Police car. No doubt I'll get pulled by real plod immediatley, but does anyone know the legal implications of Italian badging and logos in France or the UK? I've seen these Yank imported patrol cars complete with lights over here..and I've been told that as long as you do not impersonate Police you should be ok? Any thoughts?!

Just to warn you some dude done the same thing to his Jag in a Gumball and was refused entry to the country. I think it was France he tried to get into.

there was group of fellas in a police liveried M5 in one of those races a few years back and when the real police rounded up all the other racers cars at a tollbooth these guys in the M5 just slipped past unnoticed!
go for it i say! i think a bright orange Murcie with police strobes and vinyls would look great!!

I think the situation is that you are not allowed the word 'police' or have blue flashing lights.

Apart from that, I think most things go for the UK.

Why dont you have a look at LamboCops profile, he usually posts on the Speed and Plod forum?

Why not just go for the stickers bar the actual Polizei wording until you get off the boat/Chunnel and through Customs etc. A couple of miles into France pull over and fit the text yourself, should only take 20 mins or so?

It might be more hassel than its worth, i looked into it for the Britballrun last year, we ended up doing Ghostbusters with amber flash bar as it wasn't worth the aggro.

One thing i'd say though, when you get to about 80mph & over the wind noise is defining, its like someone whistling in your ear an inch away, you wont believe how bad it is..

Simon,

You old rogue that has to be good for laugh!! just give me a shout if you need an loan on the bail money for your get out of jail card!! I say just go for it an see what happens, the worst that can happen is that they make you take the decals off in calais.

By the way how many of you are going this year? have to organise a mulsanne Friday cruise again.Fully tubi'd up now with cat bypass tubes fitted, might nearly be as loud as your Murci!!

All the best

Andy.

Thanks for your input guys! I think I'll badge it up less the Polizia stickers then put them on later. With it being Orange it might make a good 'fire response' vehicle too!
Andy - there is about 8 F cars a Gallardo and my Murcie going to le mans..speak to you soon

Simon,

there are so many types of Police aorund the world, why dont you get 'Pistonheads Police' stickers or similar? You arent impersonating anyone then, and it'll still look like a cop car to all and sundry?
