Thought a memento of the BoLOCs weekend was in order. My first attempt at video editing so sorry if it is rubbish. Low sun didn't help. Thanks to Towser for the pics.

I will try to find a more reliable place to post the video. No good really unless the whole thing downloads. (25.1 meg)

OK - video submitted to pistonheads TV, but will take a few days. In the meantime I suppose it will have to be the link above.

Cheers

Looks like you had great fun...
Nice video. Not so easy with a so low sun.
How the spin was suggested? By the wheel or throttle?

Do you have trick for the slalom?

Sorry about the sun glare - the low sun this time of year is a real pain and I don't have a filter on the camcorder.

The in-car spin footage was a case of:

turn in under power
lift-off
Opposite lock
Pedal to the metal

We were hooning around at that stage so I mashed the accelerator to floor to create a 360 degree burn-out! (Normally use about 1/4 throttle to pull out of a spin like that)

The airfield was really cold, so no tyre heat was possible and the grip levels were appalling.

As for the slalom - I don't have a trick, but lotusstuart certainly does. As his wife said: "he drives the car like he stole it!"

Some fun memories - I'd recommend you try to get hold of a bullet cam Andrew. They really are superb, and then you can place the camera & mic out of the wind. A worthwhile investment.

Hi all - I have had to do a few things to get it right next time:

1) Polarising filter required
2) There is a gadget that covers the mike and cuts out the wind noise

Sorry about the quality - I am a real beginner.

Anyway, great to see you all. Enjoy the cold - I am in sunny Cape Town!
