This any help to you? www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=6&t=228127

Ive removed the door card/cleaned up connections on both doors now. Seems to be a common problem.

Mine has worked only intermittently for ages. Must try to dismantle and give it a clean

I recently searched for all the connectors, separated them cleaned them and protected them with aerosol white grease to prevent a recurrence of window and door problems. I also lubricated the window mechanism cable using a soft molybdenum disulphide grease. The car's like a proper car now! Don't overlook the connector to the magnetic proximity switch at the bottom of the door. Have something soft to rest the door inner panel on so the paintwork isn't scratched. Have fun!

i had the very same problem. on my car it was the multiplug connector that was knackered. i didnt notice it at first but on closer inspection when i pulled the plug apart i noticed that one of the pins inside the plug had broken off/corroded away totally. i just clipped the corrosponding wires either side of the connector and by passed it, seems to be working fine at the mo.
