Can't find a link but R4 this morning said that the nasty little Hitlers who are going to burst into your house and charge you extra for having nice furniture are going to be told how to do it - in a special conference in DISNEYLAND. Paid for by you and I.

Prescott's idea apparently What is that fat on?

screw the florida trip, this is what really gets me - "conference which will focus on using satellite cameras to track down people who make changes to their homes"

It's DisneyWorld, not Disneyland. There will only be a couple of people going, to a conference to see the technology. DisneyWorld holds huge numbers of conferences.

Tis Disney World, but delegates will still be able to enjoy the rides-->

The conference also gives inspectors the chance to enjoy the rides at Disney World and organisers have set up a special website to arrange tickets to the theme park to delegates

Disneywhatever, it makes no difference. They're still going at the taxpayer's expense - IE MY expense - to learn how better to screw us. Meanwhile my net income also helps pay for their pensions, which they will enjoy sooner and in greater quantity than I will.

You'd think that Prescott, with his well-known concern (and responsibility) for the environment would have them teleconferencing.

That would be a bit pointless - the conference they're attending (it's not a works get together) is at DisneyWorld.

I have to do these things several times per year - everyone thinks they're fab, and, to be fair, the first one or two probably were. But conferences in the US typically start early and finish late. I often have to stay over a Saturday night to get a cheaper flight back - again, that OK if you're with someone (who you get on with) but boring on your own.
The only good bit about going to Hawaii for a conference last year was peoples reaction when I told them. 24hrs of flights each way was a nightmare.

Feather-bedded otherwise unemployable twits. Just think, roughly 25% of your council tax is soaked up to pay for their pensions.
