Can anyone recommend a windscreen fitting company in the Cambs area who they would trust to replace a windscreen on a classic car? My Healey has developed a cracked windscreen and I need to get it sorted.

My insurer wanted me to use Autoglass but they won't touch the car!

Try the Healey Club?

Yes, I have done that. They couldn't recommend any of the windscreen fitters. Referred me to a restoration specialist.

OK, what about that Classic Cars mag - can't remember the exact title - but it's got hundreds of ads in it for all sorts of things... surely someone with the same car as you has had the same problem.

May not be a problem now. Spoke to a colleague in the area who recommended the Cambridge branch of RAC Auto Windscreens - I've spoken to them and the guy who runs the branch is going to do the job personally.

Good news. I've been down to the shops and the one I was thinking about was 'Practical Classics'.
