All steamed up

A request for aid. A month or so ago my cabin fans ceased to work and I have been suffering continued steaming up since (it's also a little chilly!). However, I now finally have a chance to have a dig around and try to fix it if I can, before succumbing to a trip to the garage.

I was going to start off with checking the fuse. I have checked the owners manual diagram but I am unsure which one is relevant. The car is a 98 450. Any sugestions?

If it's not the fuse are there any other common causes of failure that I might be able to fix from home?

The heater fuse is rated 15A and is usually either the 4th one or the 8th from the right.
Chech these first.
