I know you had to be bloody fast, but seventy five seconds and it was all over. Jesus, that boy can box The biggest problem I can see at the moment is finding opponents who can actually take him the distance.

Skill. The man doesn't have conventional armslike the rest of us, he has a pair of variable speed pneumatic battering rams covered in skin

He was faster, stronger more accurate and more skillfull that his opponent. His opponent was the lucky one. Lucky the ref stopped the fight before he sustained a serious injury.

I did watch it last night - the other guy was not really there - watch his eyes as he comes in the ring - he was absolutely terrified.

Amir is clearly an outstanding boxer but that guy was not really a credible opponent.

I remember the very same debate emerging when Naseem started winning. Khan is good, very good, but the fighter he was up against last night was no selling plater. He had a record.

Ten wins out of eleven fights and seven knockouts wasn't it?

I saw this pre fight quote from Kahn. I had to smile.

"It's my first six-round contest so I'm not going to go out there to blast him out straight away, I want to have a good look at him, size him up, make my openings and then finish him off"

Reminds me of Naseem actually. Didn't Naseem get a pasting in Las Vegas near the end of his career? (my memory is fuzzy)

Barrera did out box him, yeah. Saying this Naz was superb to watch no matter how cocky people perceive him.

Last nights fight was good but yet again a demonstration of mis matched fighters. Its clear this lad has talent so put him against people who will test him. This was again a criticism with Warren / Naz. It's all about the £s but we know that don't we.

Naseem was a very good puncher but his technical skills were poor as was proven when Barrera beat him, he would'nt have got near Roberto Duran in his prime and yes, he was also a cocky little tt.
Amir Khan is more likeable, he can punch reasonably hard, has good boxing skills and a good boxing brain, in time we will see how good he really is and if he is the real deal or just another BBC hyped up also ran

He looks like he could be the real deal, he's bulked up a lot since the olympics too. I always liked naz too, his cockiness just added to his appeal. I saw a behind the scenes documentary on his fight with barrera, the most interesting bit was at the end, after the fight. If I remember correctly he wasn't pasted but did lose clearly and when hes walking back to his dressing room you can see that he cant understand how he lost or comprehend that he did, he was quite magnanimous in defeat though despite some of the people around him trying to make out it was a fluke.

Basically we need entertaining. Eubank I hated but watched religiously. Benn was cocky too yet no-one mentions him these days, unless you saw him spinning the wheels of steel off your nut a few years ago.

Boxing needs characters.

Ricky Hatton is a good fighter but not great to watch hence the lack of deals.

Does Kahn Need to fight the Mexicans to gain "ultimate" respect which is where 'Naz' failed to shine ?

Just a thought.

did you see the barrera fight?? he systematically took nasim apart. the guy gave naz a boxing lesson from which he never recovered. Hatton is exciting, he punches his weight with every shot...id pay to see him! amir could be the real deal though..
