I am having difficulties getting a good insurance quote. The least I have been quoted is £2000 for a phoenix zx9 3000miles max, 26 years, no convictions nothing at all, garaged with alarm. Can any one recommend someone?

Go for specialist Kit car insuraers not main steam as they come up with silly money. I used Adrian S Flux Years ago and they were good (don't know what they are like now). Best advice is look in kit car mags or this link may help:

Hope that helps.

Haven't got the numbers but you should be able to get them on the net somewhere:

Egger Lawson (aka Competition Car Insurance)
Osbourne and Sons
Adrian Flux
MSM
Footman James

All the above deal with Kit-Cars and will know what you are talking about. Standard insurers haven't a clue what to do with them.

I'm with Egger Lawson and it costs me £200 to insure a Westfield SE Cosworth. That's limited milage and as a second car but it is fully comp. I'm over 30 but TBH it wasn't that much more beforehand. My brothers Westfied SEW XE cost him £180!
