I had a covercraft cover for my old 993. The technology has moved on for the good ones but i always felt that the paint might sweat or when it rains, having a damp cover on it was not great for the bodywork. Spurred me on to clear the junk out of the garage...
I've always wondered what the story is on fabric covers. Maybe talk to a zymol/swizzol/meguiars expert for advice?
cheers

I have got a brand new cover systems (unused) 964 cover that I was going to ebay tonight. It's an outdoor one and you'll need to check whether lockable on their website (see link to old thread or google). It cost me 99 gbp ex postage, but make me an offer if you want it (through my profile).

I've got a Covercraft Noah - had it for a couple of years and is lockable although I've upgraded the padlock to a more substantial item.
I use it in all conditions and whether the car is dirty, wet or clean etc etc.
Effing cats are taking a liking to it though!
Thanks for info - Do you think a thief could just cut around the loopholes?
At least the cats aren't sh**ting on the actual car!

I checked with them on the phone and they said it would have loops if you ordered it with loops! They also said that it was pretty secure as the strap does up tight below the car.
Does it fit the 964 well?
How come you are selling it?
Thanks
Tom

I reckon a thief could easily take the cover if determined enough to be honest - a stanley knife would get through it no problem.
But then again a determined thief could steal anything if they put their 'mind' to it. The upgraded locks are more to prevent the casual thief in my opinion.

Err, dunno, but it should have the underbody loops like my previous ones. I've never unpacked it. I never worried about security (car covers aren't highly nickable around my way; the scrotes prefer the cars underneath); I was more worried about it blowing off in the wind.
Dunno re fitting 964 as never saw it. It is simply a classic 911 no spolier spec. It won't be skintight everywhere, but should fit nicely. Basically, just sold the 964RS after a long resoration/convalescence (3 years!) and the new owner has a garage so has no need for it.

Sorry to hear about the RS, this is for a C2!! RS next year!
Sounds good - I'll email your profile.
Thanks all
