A nice day for tinkering, but a 16" wheel problem!

Decided to give the Cerb a wash today and make a start on some of the jobs that need doing, Checked the clutch fluid level as it has been leaking slightly down the pedal from the master cylinder since the summer, only down about 4mm from the summer and clutch still working ok despite me expecting imminent failure.

Next job, take front wheels off and replace with two spares from a set I recently bough, idea being to get the original fronts and two spares refinished in anthracite or silk black.

When I offered one of the spares up to the disk/hub face and started tightening the nuts up I discovered the wheel would not sit against the hub face, took it off again and noticed my original wheel has a step machined on the inside mating face, in other words the old wheels have a 3" hole to clear the hub where it protrudes from the disk, whereas the new ones have a 2.5" hole FFS!

The spare set of wheels all had 225x50 tyres fitted on all four, so maybe they were from a Speed 6 Cerb, so maybe the later car has different sized hub and disk, mine has the AP racing callipers, maybe the later TVR brakes are different? has anyone heard of any differences in 16" wheel fitment on different models?

The centre bore on my 4.2 was a tight 67mm (about 2+3/5ths"if i remember right. could they be off a tuscan?
