Interior central locking button cuts engine!

Hi,

I've got a 94 Chim and i've got a couple of problems that I think are related.

1) The central locking has stopped working via both doors and consequently the alarm cannot be armed.

2) When I press the central locking interior button it cuts the engine!

Does anyone have any ideas as to where to start looking?

I'd be looking at the alarm/immobiliser.
