Don't know if everyone's hard drive is the same but when you shut off the pc the hard drive makes a click noise?(im assuming its the hard drive that makes this sound)Well recently i upgraded my PSU from a 300w unit to a 500 watt one due to the fact i got a 6800gt video card and the 300 watt wasn't enough, its ever since this card install and the new PSU that my hard drive very occasionally will make the click i mentioned earlier while the pc is running normally?,it will only do it maybe once every couple of days but its a bit worrying thats all, anyone any ideas?

Either (a) your power-saving features are shutting down the HDD or (b) its on its way out

I have had this recently with my old PC. I thought it was a dodgy connector but never verified that. The drive would seem to sort of start to click and spin down but never quite did it. Sometimes it would go missing from Windows's My computer.. so it had definitely come disconnected somehow in the system's eyes.

Never solved it but I don't think drive failure is the only option.
