Tyre choice is a minefield of differing opinions. I have been happy with Toyo T1S and would fit the new T1R without hesitation. The walls are less rigid than some options but this is easily compensated for by increasing pressures by a couple of PSI.

Either Avon ZZ3's or Eagle F1s if the budget will allow.

I've got T1S on the rear & T1R's up front. Been very happy with them so far.

Out of interest, what pressures are you running?

I have the spider wheel upgrade so I'm not sure this is relevant but 25 front and 28 rear for day to day fast motoring. For croozin I drop them to 24/26 and for track they go up to 26/30 though I haven't had enough track time to settle on the right balance, I think 30 may be too hard.

cheers, mine are 24/26 IIRC. My experiment a bit if I can be bothered but TBH they feel fine as it is & I'm not planning on any trackdays for a while.

I've been looking for a set of F1's for my Griff, but been told they are no longer available in Z rated sizes 205/55/15 or 245/45/16.

Where did you buy your's from?

I have Toyo T1S on the rear and Bridgestone S03 on the front. Had to fit the Toyo as I couldn't find any Bridgestones. The tyer fitter pumped the pressure up to 40psi so the drive home was interesting!

I have done about 150 miles now, and am very happy with them. When the fronts need replacing I am going to fit 16" rims and get some more T1Ss

No no you're not supposed to select tyres because they look good.

Just as well the F1's are a damned good tyre as well as having good looks. Though Bob does have a very good point for future purchases.

I bought a set of these for the back of my Chim:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/225-50ZR16-Toyo-Proxes-T1S-TVR

They arrives within two days and are the Bol*ocks.!!!

My local tyre fitter would have charged £93 each for these, so £75 each was a result.

Highly recommended.....
