went out to the chim this morning and tried to start it turned the key and nothing, turned it back and forward and nothing then after about 10 goes car come to life. Put it down as one of those things. then left work tonight and the same thing happened. stopped half way home at petrol station and again it happend but this time took about 20 goes.

Whats the problem ?????

Is the starter turning over, but the engine not catching, or is there absolutely zilch?

If zilch, sounds like the "hot start" problem. There is a kit available to fix this.

its does zilch, this happens when cold first thing in the morning and also when warm. starter motor ??????

Ah! When cold. not an obvious symptom of the cold start problem

Does the fuel pump prime up? If not maybe immobiliser?

Happened to me the other day. Thought it was a flat battery, but having messed around in the general battery area moving wires and relays and such to make room for the jump leads decided to try again and hey presto she worked. Maybe a loose connector ? Worth checking.

Check connection to starter solenoid... Remove contacts and clean up with emery cloth and re-fit... Good place to start. Steve.

Took the relays out in the passanger footwell, cleaned all contacts and refitted and sprung into life and all seems well now :-)
