Hi Chaps..

Can anyone give me advice on forcefeed steering wheels. Am fed up of using the keyboard to run GTR and think it's about time I invested in the real thing.

Do I need to spend £60-£100 or am I able to get away with a bog standard one?

decisions, decisions ????

Logitech Driving Force Pro ideally, about £75 now maybe, and works on PS2 and PC.

Or

Logitech Driving Force, about £40 maybe, and works on PS2 and PC, and for GTL it's fine with just 180 degree's lock, and has decent FF. Just miss out on the 2.5 degree's lock to lock, but that isn't perfect yet anyway, so no massive loss for racing games anyway.

Go for either DFP as above, or the PC USB Logitech Momo Racing / Logitech Momo Force.

The racing one is what most of us including myself have, and has been criticised for reliability. Have a look on eBay for a refurbished one, they are cheaper and all the common problems have been non-existant on my refurbished momo Mine cost be about £65 delivered!

The force version is rare, more expensive and I cannot really comment much more on it... Has better build quality though supposedly.

If you were to go with a cheaper one you would be likely to regret it later!

Dave.

Thanks Guys.

What with my inpending CPU +motherborad and GC upgrade £75 for a steering wheel will hurt like hell. Don't think I can Justify the cost of one to the GF, although I have had clearance for the other bits.

Do you know of any websites that campare and rate the different types of FF STeering wheels?

just did some research on the 'Logitech Driving Force Pro' and it looks as tho it's out there in a league of it's own. Problem is I will have to sell a kidney and pimp myself, just so I can have it.

Cheapest I have seen it for is about £65. someone said £40 - where from?

cheers
Mark

The £40 was just Driving Force, not the Pro version...
as I said.. If I were you just get £20 from somewhere and you won't regret it when you come home without the Pro edition

if you just want to get started on the cheap get a formula force gp one. Its about £35-40 and has red inserts on the wheel. I have one and its not too bad. It is gradually wearing out though as it users cogs rather than ball bearings on the steering column but i've been using it rather heavily...
