Is it a prerequisite that you must be a short, balding, geeky, sex pest to be employed by this company ?

Mungo, I'd totally forgotten you used to work for them and wouldn't have dared mention it

Did you have a name badge written in marker pen? And did you appear on a tv advert going "Look at these lovely paint brushes! You can do it when you B&Q it!!"?????

Unfortunately not, it's been 10 years since I worked there. Way before the quality "You can do it when you B&Q it!!" advertising slogan.

edited because of crap spelling

Working as a grunt in a garage that specialised in VW aircooled. A great introduction for a pistonhead.

hmm.. first job...

1) Working behind a bar for my Dad
2) Tele-canvassing (double-glazing)
3) Working in various pubs.

First *proper* job is an altogether different matter..

Cleaning the toilets in my old man's factory. Oh the joy when 250 scabby Brummies discovered this. Some of the fcukers must have been doing handstands to get the stuff into some of the places........

Stands me in good stead now though when they're winging about having to clean up their own filth - "why not I did" is my reply!

History of cr*ppy jobs I've done:
Holiday summer job, "rose budding" this involves bending double in a field and grafting a bud onto a plant thats about 2" from the ground. 1.5p per "bud", back breaking, very hot (or very muddy) boring as hell.

Bakery saturday job, General Dogs Body and cream cake lad (ie I made the cream cakes), again hot, cr*p wages, really cr*p hours (12mid-night to 5.00pm 17hr shift)

Sandwich placement year: BNFL Sellafield, sounds exciting, wasn't. Bored out of my head for a whole year. The place was so huge and so many people worked there you really felt you made no difference, and were completely worthless. Mind you shows "horses for courses" another student that did exactly the same job enjoyed their placement. Only advantage helped pay for kit car build. Also sent me down the teacher route (which was a job I enjoyed)
