Dunno if this has been done before, but I've just checked out my house on google earth and spotted my old orange TVR280i and my old (red)Jag XJ6.

Given that I no longer own either car I estimate this shot must be from about four years ago. And given other details in the picture that I won't go into, I'd guess it was taken on a Sunday morning.

Has anyone else taken a trip dowm memory lane and found their old cars on Google Earth?

Even cooler would be to find cars you sold in the past or cars that you were yet to buy. ;O)

I would post the coordinates for all to see, but I suspect some one would tell me I'm daft for letting people know where I live and nigerian scammers would come around and steal my house.

Bob.

Just found were i currently live now in Swansea Marina...

As like the pic of your house it was taken before i moved here (so 3-4 yrs ago) now the city is 3/4 the way through a development scheme, which makes the city and areas around it very different and nicer!!!

hope they upgrade the pics sooon

I can see where i live

i was looking at work, and my car is parked where it normally is, and there's only a couple of other cars, so i figured it was a sunday morning as well (in on overtime!). i know its my car as its the only red one that parks anywhere near there.

What, all of them?

Could have sworn the ones round here were a couple of years older than that.

Their plan was to fly the whole of the UK and sell the photos to each Local Authority.

I guess there could have been a few who didn't opt in - although, to do a part survey doesn't really make sense.

I also presume that they got a few quid from Google - so it would have been worth their while after all.

It's generally a 10yr survey (1981, 1991, 2001, etc...) but I hear they're considering an inbetweeny this year (2006 - 5yrs).

Could be talking pants though...........
