Absolutely Superb Photos Mark.

They will help me ask lots of difficult-to-answer questions on PH in the future.

The nice thing about the AJP8 is that it's not made to look beautifull . . I like that.

Ugh!!! Exactly what I was thinking - incredibly short primaries, and horrible bend straight after one of them. Probably the main cause of the lumpy torque these engines have! Pity it's hard to fit anything else in the road car.

I think Dean (dean ratpac) had some custom pipes made for his.

If you are reading this Dean, do you have any pics for comparison?

The way 1-7 and 2-8 blend doesn't look like its helping either, let alone the short length. Shot of the JP/ACT ones from autosport here they seem a better arrangement

i did on my last cerb, just had a friend 'knock' them up. he's since stoppped making anything.
i would love to increase the bore straight off the block. not sure how much space you've got to play with or performance this would create/loose.

You need an AJP in a testing facility, thus coming up with the best solution. i'm sure ACT pipes are better than originals, have they change the outlay/bore/ length?

I understand that Paul at Austec is planning to get an engine load cell (bench dyno) for the AJP work/developement not just for the 8 but the speed6 as well. That should allow further work to be done not just on the engine but the exhaust and induction systems too.
