While you're all at home, safe in the arms of the ones you love, work has dragged me abroad. However, instead of following the lemmings to Heathrow or Waterloo, I've made my own way here. North London to the South of France, on my own, in my car. 850 miles in 13 hours (this is not a challenge). Stopping only to take on fuel and drop off waste.
I'm now relaxing in my hotel room, and I've just realised I don't feel all that tired. I don't ache. I'm just keep smiling to myself, knowing that I have just spent all that time getting to know the best car in the world a bit better.
That grown up, almost soft, GT-like suspension has got me here without the need for a chiropractor and the lack of a sports exhaust that I always thought I wanted means I can still hear. The SatNav didn't make a single mistake, I didn't get beeped at when holding everyone up at the peage booths and the only annoying bit was messing up my jumper on Le Shuttle when taking the headlights out to reset the beam to LHD.
If you get half a chance, do it. Then tell everyone else to.

When I lived in Canada I flew over to Heathrow, met up with friend in S3 and we did Antwerp, Koln, Frankfurt Auto Show, Amsterdam, Cheltenham UK, then back to Heathrow and Canada for me.....a great road trip I must say...
My partner has now moved to Switzerland for a year and I'm eager to do the drive to Geneva. Rumour has it should take about 11 hours. Anyone made the trek there?

Surprisingly warm with clear skies. But only seen two topless sunbathers so far though. (It is February I suppose.)

Probably didn't make myself all that clear there. You have to take out the headlamp units, undo some screws, remove the plastic rear covers and flick a switch at the back of the bulb chamber. All sounds fairly easy, but it's less fun when you wobbling around in a container under the Channel...

They're the sidelights, I swear. Although coincidentally, there is a lot of Burberry down here.
Haven't done any driving since getting here. The car is just sitting outside the front of the hotel now, looking very dirty. And it's going to stay there making the place look untidy until they offer me a free valet.

took 14 hours and nearly stacked multiple times - recent dump of snow and ice aren't fun in an 11 yr old supercharged 993 
The journey back took 7 hrs 45 mins, nice sunny and empty.
