Hi guys, I am interested in building an ultima in the near future. The thing is, I would really like the car to be AWD, its just a matter of personal preferense I guess. Has this been done before? Is it possible? I know that with enough money, anything is possible, but my budget is around $150,000. As far as the engine, i still havent decided but I will probably go with v8 twin turbo, I want at least 1000hp and AWD 
I too would like an AWD supercar, but my budget wouldn't allow an AWD Ultima with a high powered V8. However, I have always wondered what type of transmission/axle a Lamborghini had? I don't know what the layout is, but maybe with enough chasssis modifiactions it could fit? Either way it would be quite an engineering feat to put that together!
I hate to sound excessively negative but I think what you are asking for is an impossibility.
I cant think of any AWD drivetrain that is off the shelf that is in the correct configuration.
Porsche is out of the question, see in the Ultima the engine is in front of the 'box, so you wont be able to use Porsche AWD 'boxes 'cos the shaft that drives the front wheels will be facing the back of the car.
Lambo drivetrain is out too - see below - would never fit.
Even if you got a custom made transaxle you still have to fit it in somehow, you'd have to run the driveshaft to the front wheels down one side, so you'd probably have to lose the passenger seat altogether. Then you'd have to completely redesign the front of the chassis and all the front suspension and steering.
2WD 1100hp TT - no prob = www.spectrum5racing.com..... but he has USD65K in PARTS and a year of fabrication in his engine!!......
And the one with the twin bike engines - I dont think anyone has seen it working yet.

Yes, it's been done. Don't know how much they spent, but they used two bike engines ('Busas I think). If you do a search in this forum, you should be able to find more info. They made around 1,000 hp, IIRC.
Tt was a 1000bhp/ton rather than 1000bhp at the wheels. The site seems down at the moment though

Quaife did a 4wd mid engined car and the drivetrain would fit a modded Ultima..... also there are plenty of front engined cars that are 4wd.... if you could reverse the diffs maybe these could be adapted.
I'd have to say though, that unless you plan to use it mainly in the rain IMO an Ultima with 500bhp doesn't need 4wd and the extra weight it would provide would be an unwelcolm addition..... and if you try one in std form I'm sure you will agree.
Edited to say that I missed the 1000bhp requirment..... I can't think of any drietrain that could cope with that... lambo definatelly won't.

Maybe the only "easy" way it can be done is the normal setup + added a in wheel elektro engine in the front wheels like the Mitsu EVO conceptcar...bud then come's the problem to connect it all together that way that the front and rear can commute together..so that will be a big elektric chalange??

The AWD in the bentley continental GT coupe may be a similar system to the veyron (modded though). The GT has also got that fantastic 6.0L bi-turbo W12 with max torque at 1600rpm, its more of torque flat than a torque curve, all the way to max revs!
Too many if's, best to keep it simple unless you have lots of disposable income.

Ok but will the Lambo engine fit in an Ultima?
