I have a chump telling me he saw one of these in Farnham on Monday

http://voitures_de_sport.turboblog.fr/photos/uncateg

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me he's lying and reasons why. I didn't think that they were road legal anyway? Could it have been an MR2 with body kit

No, you could road register them. The road versions were a bit lame compared to the Le Mans ones, but it's all relative. And speed humps were a killer!

They didn't do kits, but the early Farboud was a spitting image of one.

I have seen one at a Porsche show in the UK, so there must be some in the country, at a dealers or driven over from Europe etc.

Hard to believe it's based on a 993, especially with those 996 type headlights.

Far sexier than a common ol' CGT though.

Posting that pic wasn't kind! I've now got a bad case of the "I want one"s with no chance of ever satisfying the wish unless I win the Lottery.

There used to be one that showed up at the Wheeltorque days at the Ring a few years back. Came in a transporter along with an F50. Nice toy box!

They did them 'based on' a 993 OR a 996. There were two types, but I imagine it was just the headlights and a few little details that changed.

Saw one travelling in the opporsite direction to me on the M4 4 or 5 years ago.

Had to do a double take to make sure I wasn't imagining things.

I might be wrong but I think they belonged to the man who makes yellow diggers...

Nothing to do with diggers, involved with very well known fizzy drink amongst other things.

Perhaps he was over-dosing on that fabulous rear view?

The gent in question has sold the white GT1, it wouldnt go up his driveway ! It now lives near us in Silverstone. The previous owner has a phenomenal car collection of rare historic cars with provenance to die for.

All from putting water in bottles and adding concentrate....

Always wanted one, actually prefer the 993 light version rather than the 996. Absolutely gorgeous I would rather have one than a CGT. I think it's better looking and has the direct Le Mans pedigree as do the GT2 and GT3, all having raced there

IMHO

If I dust off the old soda stream and start flogging 'not so innocent' drinks could I afford a GT1??
