I know the chaps from Vauxhall were at the Ace with that gorgeous looking Ute and are maybe considering bringing a few in as official imports...any more news?



What sort of spec would they likely be?
Would they have niceties like traction control (only for poofters like me, maybe as an option ) and ABS?
Any price indications?

I am assuming you are referring to the supercharged maloo? Haven't heard anything but was talking to my dealer about it only the other day.

Aye, can't imagine it would be supercharged as standard but say, an LS2 lump in it would be a good start.

Ute import is still under discussion. Still have the issue of corrosion protection. And we would 'only' be able to bring in the LS2 and LS1 lumps.

What's the diffence between a Vauxhall Monaro and Holden Ute in terms of corrosion protection? Does the Monaro get corrosion protection because of the UK and US markets?

What about the V6 Utes aswell?? Surely these would be as viable if not more viable in terms of sales numbers?

I'm not sure about the diference bewtween a LS1 or LS2.
I'm sure they are both fine!

I would be after a SS8 crewman in the future .
I need the big boot option to fit all my tools

I've just specced up an R8 on the HSV site...AP 6pots & Xenon lights added in and it comes to AU$68k which is about £28000 or so.

I reckon that if they can be brought in at under the magic £30,000 figure they'll fly out.
I'd certainly be interested for instance.

I would be interested as well, but suspect that wouldn't be. Considering the price difference between the VXR and the HSV monaro back home. Be interesting though. Suspect though just going to import mine from back home.

Thought HSV GTO and Monaro VXR were about the same after exchange and tax ?
