Are there any graphic-designer types on here who would know where / how I could download some (hopefully free )software to do my own business cards . I have bought the printer sheets with cards on , just need the software now.

( I need a few simple cards for a reunion / networking opportunity this wknd )

Thanks.

Did you not get the software with it? You can buy a paper pack that comes with a CD that allows you to print them. I think you may have just bought the refill pack.

Would recommend a combination of QuarkXpress (for layout), Adobe Photoshop (for image manipulation) and Adobe Illustrator (for vector artwork)

yep , probably was a refill pack .... might have to take it back and swap .... but if I could find some downloadable software I'd use it .

As another option have you looked at Vistaprint, if you don't mind having their smallish logo on the back of the card they are free for 250 and you can design online based on some of their templates. You only pay the postage charges. Sounds too good but used them a while ago and it is ok. Premium option as well which has more templates and don't have logo and are pretty cheap as well.

Nope, they cost a pretty penny and take some knowledege to use. TBH I would go back to the shop you got the stuff from as it would be difficult to set up Quark or Illustrator to print on the perforated sheets. I think I paid around £15 for the basic pack when I was at Uni. Now I tend to just get them printed as I design a lot of cards and have a printer i regularly use.

No probs mate. I did have a pack at home but haven't seen it for a while. The software will most likely have to match the cards that you have bought. If you want any more advice feel free to drop me a mail.
