Gt3 vs 996tt

I thought i was the only Porsche driver in Britain that thought the Gt3 is not ideal to drive quickly on Uk roads until i read EV0 magazine this month.The "lardy,understeering,bloated,PSM assisted" 996tt seemed to fair well by comparison!

Indeed, I just changed from a TT to a GT3 RS.

The TT would probably get me from A > B quicker and in more comfort. But in the RS it makes me scream and giggle like a little girly! The TT never did that

For me it just depended on what I wanted from the car at the time.

Odd that you say that, but I think most of us agree that the GT3 isn't the quickest on poorly surfaced B roads. Its just most of us don't care as its a tactile & involving drive. Beyond a certain point more speed is just irresponsible anyway.

If you are just fussed about getting from A->B quickly and in comfort, get a Merc

Having owned both, I don't agree. Even the Evo article says the RS is perhaps a little overwhelming in the feedback department until you settle in. I agree the Elise is slow however

Of course the Evo article then gives the RS 5 stars, so it shows how much they liked it. Shame the article is crap.

It was a rather poorly written article - the writer spent more time describing the cars specs than the driving experience.

I agree the article was poor....however my view remains the same ..GT3/Gt3rs great toy/second car with awesome fun factor......996tt great 'real' car and far more capable....

Yeah yeah we've heard it before.

However - I've noticed quite a few on this forum recently buying GT3s - what I'm interested in is whether the PH GT3 'mafia' are all wealthy enthusiasts using the GT3 as a second car or for trackdays only. I'd really like to know how many run a GT3 as an only car. The 996tt is obviously usable as a daily driver. If the GT3 is not, and nobody really tries to use one as such, then there is no need for these silly arguments since they're not directly comparable.

I use my GT3 as a daily drive, still got all my teeth and can walk upright unaided and everything
