Replacing interior???

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a replacement interior, door cards, transmission tunnel cover, dash board, etc....? I'm so close to my ideal Griff, but the interior in my opinion lets it down a little. It's a little tatty in places, and I would love to be able to replace it with a black interior.

Has anyone on here attempted this before? The only part that would cause a headache in my mind is the dash board, but presumably even this must be possible...(or am I deluding myself? )

Breakers like Bell Hill would be the first place to start looking i feel.It's a lot of work though,when you still might find the right one.I'd also consider getting it professionally re-trimmed
(oh the smell of new full leather),and maybe you could do the carpets yourself to keep costs down,and get some satisfaction?

Thing is, I've already had work done to the engine, and apart from the current issue the car is well sorted, chassis is perfect, and the exterior is exactly what I want, so to sell her and try and find another Griff in similar condition would be a nightmare. The carpet is fine, so maybe a re-trim is what's called for, that "like new smell" is heaven isn't it! Do you know if they'd be able to do the dash without taking it out?

No,it wouldn't be possible if you want it done properly,not too big a job though.One you might even do yourself?-i would.

This may be of Interest Clicky Here Thanks to Mark C... I believe the Dash would need to be out to re- covered. The slim bit by the window would be a nightmare to cover with the main dash in situ.

cheers BB, looking at that has given me the motivation to give it a go myself, can't be that hard, right....

I've had a quote to retrim the interior, including the seats, entirely in leather, for £2k, which I think is quite reasonable considering the work involved, however if I strip the car myself this would bring it down a fair amount I'd imagine...

Anyone know of a good company for this kind of work?

Give Austec a call. They know a local trimmer who has done some fantastic work to a couple of their cars. I have seen one of his completely re trimmed wedges and the finish is better than anything that left the factory.

Mark C gave me a helping hand to restick my dashboard.Had it completely out and restuck and replaced in about 5-6 hours.Sounds more daunting than it actually is and only about 6 bolts holding the whole dash assembly in plus a few screws and things holding fascia panel on.Go for it !

I've had most of the interior out of my car including the dash. It's easy enough, but go slowly and DON'T DROP ANYTHING (or you could spend hours retrieving it). With the dash out it's worth checking and tidying all the wiring - something to so while the new leather is being fitted.

For the trim work I'd recommend AJS Trimming in Bourne End, Bucks. Your quotes are about right - quite competitive even. You might have to get the actual car to the trimmer for the screen base and pillar sections - I don't know how these remove.
