I wonder if anyone can help me?

When I open the drivers door, the window is not going down at all. This means I'm having to leave it slightly ajar - not ideal!!

Does anyone have a quick fix, or is this a 'Tuscan electrics' back to the dealer job?

Cheers

Big Al.

IIRC there's a small electronic circuit that gets damp and goes intermittent.

Had to replace the one on my passenger door twice.

It's appears only to be a minor job, if you know what your doing taking the door skin off.

Sounds like it will need a door encoder replacing. Most TVR dealers will have them in stock and if you feel up to removing the door panel then you could do it yourself. In the meantime can you not simply wind the window down slightly before opening the door? Then you could wind it back up by reaching in through the passenger side, or sometimes the 'lazy lock' function will still power the windows up when locking the car. Good luck and I hope this helps. Best regards to all. Tony Abrams

In which case, I'd better leave it to the professionls!

Thanks

I had the very same thing with my passenger door (twice), The first occasion I took it back to the dealer who replaced the micro switch inside the lock keep on the door jamb (under the chrome plate). The second time it happened it was replaced again however, the problem was not solved. The little chrome plate has no gasget under it which allowed rainwater and jet washing water to trickle down the door jamb under the chrome plate and into the micro switch.

Remedy
Had the switch replaced again and covered the micro switch in vasaline, I also bedded the chrome plate on vasaline which has acted as a moisture barrier - Its been fine ever since.
