If you were in your mid-30s, had a recent open university biology degree (2.1), had had a few jobs but no real career direction to speak of, were good with people (not me), extremely reliable (again, not me) and were looking for a career to start from scratch with what would you choose (not dream jobs just sensible career suggestions please)? Teaching is out and this person does not want to do any more educational course but just wants to start a career on what ever rung of the ladder is appropriate.

Alternatively if you work for a company that sees this sort of person as a desirable future employee please can you let me know.

Any genuine advice or leads would be very very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

there's a good chance a bank (not sure) or a property investment firm would consider them. i have just joined a team doing the latter (as a sort of economist) i used to do transport modelling and a work with a girl who used to be a structural engineer. my firm are quite forward looking (i don't want to say who they are at the moment - sorry) and that's kind of why they look outside the industry - to get more diverse skills.. but i do have to do an additional course but it's not a full on accountancy typr thing just on the job training and a day of tests...

Sales seems an obvious suggestion, perhaps for a medical or pharmaceutical company
