Anyone ever built a fireplace

Anyone ever built a fireplace into the flue ??
The original stone work fell in and created a large hole from exposed flue to floor level.
I recently purchased a stone fireplace to fit into what can only be described as a large opening in the wall..

dimensions are as follows flue 410mm x 220mm

flue -floor level 1700mm

width of internal fireplace 300mm x 700mm,


can you get a prefabricated steel chamber to fit behind the fireplace inserted into the flue
then install the fireplace and replace the stone wall ?
