Did anyone else notice the lack of coverage in this week's Motorsport News (1/2/06) of Sunday's A1GP race in South Africa?
Had plenty of coverage of other international motorsport...

I was more surprised that the revised Formula 3000 got as much publicity as it did in the first place.

Point taken, but all the same, last weekend's South African meeting should have been significant enough to make a report in MN.
It isn't as if there is a plethora of international motor racing in January...

Sorry, I was being a bit sarcastic there. Yes, I agree, it should have been reported. Sounded like it was quite exciting too, especially for the Dutch contingent.

Was a great race as well. With some very daring overtaking moves pulled off on a tight street track. That boost button really works. This was the 1st A1 race that I have watched on the telly and really enjoyed it. Mr Verstappen coming from 16th to win was quite something, the lad in the New Zealand car can also really drive!

Was great to see such a large crowd at a race meeting in South Africa, was apparently the biggest motorsport crowd for years.

Quite amazing how they got the track ready in such a short time in a very busy part of the city, especially as it was the first time it had been done in Durban.

Totally agree with you, the race was brilliant.... which is why I was surprised at the lack of coverage by MN
