It all ends on eBay...

So this is where it all ends (all of course except for limited HSV GTO's).

Sad loss to the motoring world. Let's hope Vauxhall get their hands on some more Holden cars in the future and reduce their reliance on politically correct Opel models. The Monaro gave Vauxhall a fair amount of new credibility in this country it would be a shame if it all gets forgotten.

Yes it's sad to see the last 'of the current generation'. But, have faith, being a cardholding member of HSV's Frequent Buyer club I get invited to attend special HSV functions and events. A year or so ago, I was invited to attend a special (and secretive) veiwing and evaluation session in Melbourne. All cameras, phones, etc were confiscated before we were allowed to enter the building and we had to sign a doc not to discuss what we were about to see. Here we were asked to pore over and give our opinions, suggestions, etc of a concept prototype for, as it turned out, Holden. We were shown 3 cars, Holden's SSX, an AWD V8 powered station wagon (estate for the locals
) that never went into production, a Nissan 350Z, and an unmarked 2 door coupe remarkably similar in shape to the Monaro. We spent half a day examining and filling in questionnaires, etc on things like - do you like/hate/indifferent the shape, interior, lights, grille, too big, small - you get the picture. After all this was over, we were then individually interviewed by a couple of 'suits' as to our overall opinions. During the interview the 'suits' were filling in a form, on the bottom of which I spotted the words "VE COUPE".
I expect that Holden will prob release this car in the 2nd generation of the VE - next year, with HSVised versions a few months later. So, keep the faith brothers
