I think JZM use a Castrol synthetic rather than Mobil 1...

I had Mobil 1 (post service @ Silverstone OPC) in my Mk1, and it used a fair bit of oil (had to top it up every 6 weeks or so). Since the last service (inc K400 kit) @ JZM, it's used virtually none (I haven't topped it up since September last year, and have driven it often on short-ish journeys to work and back). Spoke to Steve about it and he said it might be the change in oil.

Worth a phone call to Steve IMO

What do you reckon about the K400 - I'm thinking of it on mine. Did you get the mathey exhaust done as well? Whats the difference on insurance? - and noise level (for trackdays)?

Sorry about the Spanish inquisition!

Cheers

There was a suggestion from the PCGB site that a Silkolene oil might provide more start-up protection --- Pro-S 5w - 40, Ester synthetic oil for high performance engines --- approved by Porsche for the purpose.
