Gluing velco by hood & under bonnet insulation

What's the best glue to stick the velco back to the vinyl by the sides of the hood?

and what's the best glue to stick the under bonnet insulation back to the bonnet?

Will something like evo-stik impact multi-purpose do the job?

Not sure about the hood,but read a few lines on the Chim forum saying that NO-NAILS stuff from your local diy store is good for the under bonnet.

Apply then place a load of old blankets on top of engine and gently lower bonnet and leave to cure!

Blankets keep the pressure on the insulation!

I tried no more nails and it didn't do the do for me. Neither did evostick, ended up using sikkoflex stuff along with the blankets and bits of wood to hold it in position.

I think the bonnet gets very greasy from oil fumes etc, that's probably why nothing sticks.

Item number 259. Its very high temperature so shouldn't be affected by engine heat.

I got rid of the standard under-bonnet felt as it constantly fell down and replaced it with a modern type fibre one (also from Woolies Trim), stuck in place with the above adhesive. Looking at it, theres no way its ever gonna come down again now!

I would imagine the adhesive would also stick the velcro strips too. Its sinilar in principle to Evo Stik, however the final result is a lot, lot stronger.

You could try Shoo goo. I don't know if it will handle the undrbonnet but it sure works in the velcro. You can get clear or black.

V funny. Isn't sikkoflex some sort of Garry Glitter merchandise? Sikaflex on the other hand is a range of adhesives from the Sika group.
You need to chose the correct one for the application and follow the installation instructions. Their Product data sheets give all the info.
