Finally got round to curing my cracks on the leading edge of nose cone and think I've found the culprit. Some damage has been repaired using what looks like just filler, which popped out once I grounded out enough.
Now have a dilema in very thin front end, which I probably need to reinforce from underneath, but do I need to cut a complete section out so no loose edges that may crack again, or fill with gel and then as much matting as required to bring up to level of rest of fibreglass ?
Anyone know how high I need to jack the front end up to get the nose cone level or is it easier to attach a lump of wood as a sort of barrier so stop the gel running of the front

Dunno if it's of any help, but when I fixed my cracked ankle-slicer I took a mould from further across the car and cut a section out of it to replace the bulk of the previously-bodged bit that had broken.
You could do something similar but use the mould to form, er, a mould
while you lay up from the back...
