944T strange (non)starting

Hi, I'm having a problem in which the cars starts on ignition, idles for 5 seconds and then just dies. Car is 1989 944 turbo. Checked the DME and fuses OK.

Any hints?

Maybe fuel pump itself... or immobiliser if it had one.

Failing the usual, maybe get the AA out to see if it's obvious (lack of fuel or alternator) then if they don't know, book it into a specialist. Remember, forums are pretty rubbish for fixing mystery running faults. You could be given more red herrings than useful hints. Specialists are there for a reason - they spend their time fixing cars not posting here (apart from 9m obviously ).

Thanks Domster. The lack of fuel was considered too but unfortunately not .

It was just a try to see if someone had already encountered this particular gremlin. Perusing the online literature has not been helpful so probably time to sort the wallet.
