How easy is it to......

I think you will struggle to get a clutch unless you go for a refurb of your existing set up, they seem in short supply of recent. The standard clutch is crap anyway and I don't know why anyone would accept a standard replacement thats going to last another 20K miles or so when there are better alternatives.....TVRCraft are supplying a far superior item, getting them fabricated to their specs by an independant and the cost is less. They are currently designing a triple plate clutch for my Tusc.....You really cant go past these guys for engineering knowledge and capability, the bonus being they only deal with the best of manufacturers, so you can be assured the components are of a high quality. May I suggest you call them and speak to Dave.

Graham,
To try and apply a balance...
I understand that the clutch is available - they WERE in short suply.
The standard clutch has been known to fail at around 20k miles, that does not necessariily make it a "crap clutch".
Alternatives are avilable but thus far unproven in the application discussed.

Your quite right John the alternatives have not yet been proven and regarding the standard supply...I should have said "IMHO they are crap". However a pressure plate that breaks up at 20K miles is not exactly reasonable wear and tear, it may have been down to a bad batch supply over a period of time, I certainly hope this is the case.... I did/do not intend turning this request for help into another S6 slanging post...
Simon
I am sorry I have no idea how difficult it is to remove the box with engine in situ, but I can assure you that Craft will give you good advice whether you intend to take custom with them or not. Best of luck.
