Anybody got any info on these cams from Raceline? They are the ones used in their 135/145/160 upgrades. I need info for lift, duration, timing, etc.
Has anyone had them fitted? How's your idle? Mine is non-existent since these were fitted. They are both timed for max lift at 110deg as recommended but does anyone have any other ideas? It seems they are either mis-timed or the MEMS unit can't handle. The oddest thing is that a "stable" idle can be acheived below 200rpm when the engine is cold but as it starts to warm up the idle creaps up above 2000. Seems the wrong way round to me. It is too sensitive to backing off the set screw on the throttle body (alu. throttle body), at a seemingly uncontrollable point it just falls and dies.
Would really like to hear what setup anyone else has with these cams.
Cheers.

P.S. It's fine when there's load on it. And at full throttle it goes like stink!! Getting bored of the 2 grand idle at traffic lights though.

never seen anyone with them - most people fit Piper 270 or 633 to get to 150/60bhp with a few mods..try emailing Dave Andrews - he might now...check out www.dvapower.co.uk

Cheers Bogie. Had contacted Dave Andrews just before posting this and got a reply this morning. He reckons setting lift at TDC of 40 thou for the inlet and 30 thou for the exhaust should sort it. Will give it a go and see.

Still interested in anyone elses experiences with these though.

I'm pretty sure they are Kent RK1811. The cam timing settings Dave gave you are very conservative and should give you a perfect idle. Normally these cams timed at 1.2 mm inlet and 1.0mm exhaust LATDC will give a good idle.

Thanks Dan,
If they are the RK1811's like you say then the Kent website has all the info I need. What makes you think they are the RK1811's?
Rich.

Not that many people make cams for the Elise so pretty sure they are the Kent cams. They've got a lot of lift for standard springs though.
