Cheap cerbera !?

Hi All,
In my continuing search for a TVR Griffith at a budget of 12k I have come across a Cerbera 4.2 77k miles on autotrader in Met green for £11,995 must this be a lemon?
I know nothing at all about Cerb's and any pointers advice would be most welcome,(maybe in won't be a griff after all!)

Not necessarily. But a decent inspection would be a must. Mine has 57000 miles but had some of the more problematic items replaced recently such as gearbox, clutch and slave cylinder. All by the previous owner. Car came with FTVRSH as per the schedule. (Saying that it looks like the diff has just gone!) Ask the seller if they can tell you what it has had replaced in its lifetime in terms of major components or rebuilds.
If it hasn't got any history, I would say its optimistically priced though.

personally, id rather pay afew grand more than £12,000,, and get one with less miles and checked out!. As you know a Cerbs alot more expensive to run than a Chimeara, so starting with a higher milage regarless of what its had done . Otherwise I think you ll need an open check book in the future unless your very lucky!

tvr7s - ha ha! that sounds very like how i felt when i first got mine! I went from a 320bhp 4x4 rice mobile to the cerb, and thought....WTF have i done! I cant tame this animal! but give it a little time, and you will get used to it, they rev SO quickly which is what catches you out so much in the wet/damp. It will get better once you learn how to drive it trust me.....im still learning slowly! It certaintly demands respect!

how long have you had the car?? they do take some taming, and not a car you can dump your right trotter. once the confidence is achieved they're so much fun. i'm on my 3rd, not found a car (that i can afford) to top it.

No it didn't go to a dealer just a guy who wanted to swop his Cerbera for a Griff to free up some cash. Just been searching the forums about tyres, if I invest in some different ones maybe able to convince her to let us have a proper kick of the ball, as someone mentioned I have had it less than a week and that is hardly a fair trail! Would love to pull the auction anyway as fed up answering silly questions from half wit ebayers! Is it fast? Will I p/x for a tin of soup etc
