South Manchester - Silver '05 Monaro.
Discussion
Just a quick hello.
Stumbled across this website and thought I'd say hello.
I have a London plated "LC 05 ***" silver '05 Monaro. Bought it new from the dealer in Croydon when my Omega MV6 went tits up. Best decision I've ever made. Highlights so far has to be a drive to Budapest and back on business. The Hungarians went mad over the car. Got to the point when it was really embarrassing! It was great to be cruising at 120mph plus with ease through Germany and Austria (& Hungary too). Only managed to find space to floor it once (traffic and weather) and got to 160, when I had a terrible vibration. Mentioned this to the guys at Pentagon in Derby. (They had a giggle) But they re-balanced the wheels. Since then no vibration at 160. Top guys! Thanks.
I haven't seen any other Monaros in the wild in the Manchester area.
(In fact I've only ever seen one other wild Monaro and that was a silver VXR on the A14 a couple of months back)
Wondered if there were any others in and around South Manc / Cheshire?
Hello to you all.
Rocket-man!

Only joking, welcome aboard Rocket-man. CV8 or a VXR?
You may see reports on this forum that black Monaros are faster, but we know best eh...after all, why else would did they name it Quicksilver?
Cheers,

Hi Rocket.....
Ironically I have the CV8.
It's exactly the same as yours, bar the number plate.
I haven't seen a black one yet. (Well I've only seen one other one yet! so that's no benchmark!)
Prefer the silver version...It blends in more and attratcs less attention from the boys in blue.
Well that's my lame excuse!
Rochdale 666! Another one in the Manchester area.
We'll have to organise a Manchester meet!

Rocket man by proffession!
See Top Gear on Sunday.
Re this Sunday's TG, bbc website says..."Winter Olympics Special: The Top Gear team visit Norway during which they attempt Olympic events, but with cars. In a world first, they fire a rocket powered Mini off a ski jump."
Will that be you?!?! I'm intrigued....will have to tune in on Sunday.

You're gonna have to give me a quick education......
What's a VZ?
I had to ask that question and the guys here gave a very good education.. All can be found here www.hsv.org.uk/topic.asp?h=27&t=234157

It's the face lift Monaro, 354ps engine and newer shape, front & rear plus bonnet vents. Also known as the 2005 version (or just v8 rather than CV8).
Ah ha.
In that case I have the 2005 version or V8.
Got it in May last year. Already racked up 13k miles in it......
It's getting old. D
