Ignition wires?

Could somebody please tell me what the three wires do that connect to the ignition barrel?

On mine one is white

one is white/red

and the other (two small ones) are red

Only three? You should have a big 12v feed in, ancilliaries out, ignition out, starter out, all joining the main loom via a multi-way connector. You can get a pretty good idea what's what just by looking at the physical position of the terminals, since this represents the order that they go live as you turn the key.
