Hi, I'm new to this page. I have a 2000 3200GT auto that needs a new exhaust. I'd appreciate advice on what to fit.

tubi would be my first choice - sounds great, excellent quality too. Give verdi / scuderia systems a shout - they advertise here...

Many thanks Mr Tony. Another question. Is it worth buying another warranty and if so do you have a view on which one. My car has 21K on the clock. Just had 18K service.

In terms of warranty I would say yes. As someone who didn't buy an aftermarket warranty when my maserati one ran out (figured it had been reliable so why worry!). Although it never let me down it did proceed to cost me around 5k in repairs that would mostly have been covered under warranty... (lambada sensors, air con, radiator leak, hoses, warped discs etc etc etc)

I'd either buy a warranty through your local independent specialist (e.g. Bill McGrath or Verdi etc etc) - cheaper by a long way than the main dealers.

However, some dealers are offering extentions etc to warranties - so give a few a ring and get prices. Warranty co not so important, more the relationship you avhe with the garage where you will make a claim through...

Guess it comes down to what they'll charge you.
Some dealers quote 3k, others quote less - I'd ring round a few - as long as you have FMSH then I think you could buy it from any dealership...

Weigh up the cost of the warranty against the anticipated mileage, if you'll only be doing 1k-3k pa then a grand or more on a warranty might well work out expensive.

It might - but I'd buy it anyway.
My 02 20k mile 3200GT - one of the very last made had over 8k's worth of work done under warranty at it's 3 year service. As a result I decided that an extended warranty was pointless - I was only planning to keep the car another 6 months.

Lets just say that if I'd paid the 3k the dealer wanted for the warranty I'd have saved a hell of a lot of money in those 6 months.

I guess its just luck of the draw, mines a 2000 model, took a warranty when I bought it at 6 months/4k miles, didn't need it all year, thought I'd save by not renewing and touch wood it's worked so far, sounds like I've been lucky. Had it 5 years now and its never needed any warranty type work done. its now got 36k on it. I just hope theres not a nasty surprise around the corner!
I've always gone main dealer for servicing and it definately pays in the long run even if it costs a little more. (not as much as a warranty though).

Which ever way you choose to go, good luck and enjoy your new car, they give serious grin factor and I haven't driven anything else that I like so much. Totally unique style inside and out.

I've just paid £1195 for a new warranty through Greypaul.

I figure at 10+ k miles per year that it'll be worth it.

Can i just mention that Larini rear silencers are a little quieter and i think sound better at motorway speeds. They are made in stainless steel and carry a 25 year warranty. You can have them fitted with us for the same price as originals

Larini did vary their price last year according to the their single buying cutomer.
Will not buy from them again as a result.
Good exhaust granted but quiet compared to the Tubi.
The Exhaust as a "Product" overall is of good quality but I was not happy about finding out about price variation depending on who you spoke to.

I note this has now become static for single purchases.

I had my 3200 for just over 18 months, and the warranty became very valuable. It was an '01 that I did 10k miles in with full main dealer servicing - when I sold it it had done 34k. During my ownership I had over £7000 of warranty repairs done on it. I would say warranty was essential on these cars. The tubi exhaust is the one to go for - it sounds incredible. Really enjoyed owning it. All the best!

Thanks all on the warranty and exhaust. Time to spend some money again.
