This is a follow on from the superbowl thread, and not wanting to dilute that one, i thought a new thread was justified.

what do you lot think the toughest sport is?

by toughest, i mean the one where you need to be made of the right stuff to stand a chance of being successful, be it iron man, rugby, cycling, american football, boxing etc...

it can be any type of pursuit eg. a strength sport is as valid as an endurance sport

What's the toughest, and be extension, who's the toughest????????

Gymnastics by far and away the toughest sport there is. Considering you have to be able to do this:

Boxing by a mile, just having the stamina to fight for 12 rounds is a feat in itself, then, ontop of that you have to deal with getting hit in the head and ribs.

THe Tour de France takes some doing I'd imagine, as does Rowing.

Ah, but have you tried badger tossing? A combination of strength, cunning, skill and hardness far beyond any other sport is required

Blimey, I haven't seen turbotesticles for a while. I might be up for a wee snifter.

I thought they had a dress code in the Weyside

Boxing is up there, but this takes the biscuit ...

You gotta be MAD to do this. How about hands and legs tied and spending half an hour bobbing up and down in a 10 ft deep lake just to survive?

Crazy. Only one fatality - ever.

Just happened last week in the Black Country. A pretty good test of stamina, endurnace and the sheer will to survive.

The guy who runs it is very weell off now by all accounts - charges people the earth to test themselves -
