Poverty spec Boxsters
Discussion
A good mate of mine is looking to change his RX-8 for a Boxster 2.7, and yesterday he sent me a link to an ad for a black 2.7 that a local Volvo dealer has on their forecourt.
First off, it was advertised as having a/c yet clearly didn't (big twirly knobs in the dash a giveaway there), and was running on 16" rims, no wind deflector, half-leather alcantara seats (in that nasty old man's slip-on shoes light grey colour). Basically a real poverty spec car. £22,500.
I suggest he avoid it like the plague and go looking for a nicely specced car, with at least a/c, 17" rims & wind deflector kit.
Was I hasty with my advice, are poverty spec cars hard to sell on? Any other 'must have' options for good re-sale?
Both of mine (2.5 and an S) were ex demo and well specced, so I've not much to compare to in my own experience.

My old boxster didn't have the lux pack and was a nightmare to sell (had 17" alloys though, FPSH et etc). Basically if it doesn't have leather and air-con you're going to struggle to shift it later on - at any price. Ended up selling to a well-known porsche specialist who did an after-market leather upgrade, including dash & door cards!
He should walk and get a decemt spec one, or haggle hard- teh dealer will know the score ref pov. spec.
