I have an unusual colour on my Chim 500 i've never seen on any other car (special order export combo) and wish to get to some paint cellulose made-up from a local manufacturer.

As a newbie can anyone explain which paint code I need to quote ? does this come from teh Body code ? & if so which number combo should i be looking for ?

Its in your hand book, if you dont have it then phone TVR with the chassis number and they will tell you the paint code.

Andy,
I don't think it'll be cellulose, more than likely two-pack (nasty stuff without breathing gear) celly will probably react if you try and paint it over the top.....

My paint code was hand engraved on the chasiss plate under the bonett.. It did take some matching thougth as it was an ICI paint code and not everywhere knows the codes.

Yes, paint code is on the chassis plate under "body". I was told by a car paint supplier that the only place that can do ICI paint which apparently it is on my 2000 Chim, is Brown Brothers. Don't know whether they are nation wide or not though.

Depends how much paint you want. Most of the TVR garages with a paint shop will mix you up a small pot for touch up purposes.

We have a Brown Brothers in Bradford West Yorkshire so they must be fairly common.

Thanks - looks like it is the body code number as noted on teh plate. I only want a small pot mixed for touch-up purposes, i'll try the local supplier & if that draws a blank I'll try the Brown Bros option.
