Accelerator Cable - Replacement?

Hi,

My accelerator cable is looking a little threadbare at the plenum end.

Has anyone changed one, is it a bit of a nightmare feeding it through the bodywork?

I tried TVRPower today to order a new one, but their spares dept. is closed until tomorrow - I quess £60 for a new cable??

Got mine from David Gerald. Can't recall the cost. Not a big problem to fit, just a bit fiddly.

Thanks Steve, doing a few jobs at the moment. Noticed the accelerator cable as I was cleaning the stepper motor.

Just restuck the 'blanket' onto the bonnet. Now have the dashboard in pieces to replace with a Carbon Fibre one.

Everytime I tick a job of the list another one gets added......

Hi Jeb,

helped a friend do his last weekend, like Steve said just fiddly. His was a worst case scenario it is a 1992 and it seemed like the brass sleeve had rusted in the pedal. Had to take the pedal assembly off which was a pain and also the bracket to get the cable through the rubber spacer (all will become clear when you do it). Really awkward to get to!

Took us 3 hours to do! So give yourself plenty of time - dealer told us 'easy job'.

It was the pedal end that was our problem, if the pedal end came free as it should would have taken less than half the time!!!
