I've got approx £220 worth of vouchers for stores in the DSG group thanks to an insurance settlement. However, as we all know, we can get better prices and better service from numerous other suppliers. So, what do I buy? Don't need a PC or monitor, DVD, Surround Sound, camera. What's left that won't make me feel completely ripped off? Only possibility at the moment is an smallish LCD TV to replace an old portable.

Ideas gratefully received...

Have a look at the currys website and then go in store and get them to price match their own web pices. They'll say "I shouldn't really" etc. etc, and then will do it anyway.

Can you buy something with the vouchers, then take it back the following day and get a cash refund??

if you are prepared to make a small loss, try e-bay... vouchers tend to go for very near their actual value

no because in order to get a refund on anything most shops require proof of purchase, and when you provide that, it will show on the receipt that you tendered vouchers instead of cash.

When you pay by vouchers in most shops, you will either be allowed to exchange it for something else with in 90 days, or get more gift vouchers. Cash refunds for cash sales only.

Hang around by the tills and offer to swap your vouchers with people for cash when they're buying stuff. Should be able to change the lot up in less than an hour I would have thought...

Has anyone actually done this. So tempting as a boy when given a boots voucher (which were not so bad as you could spend them in Halfords). Do you get slung out of the store ?
