I'm in my 2nd year at the University of the west of England (U.W.E) in Bristol doing Motorsport engineering. For my second year investigation i'm researching Britcar, so was wondering if anyone could help me gather some information on it because i'm struggling abit! After looking through the forums i've seen that some people on here actually compete, so should hopefully be able to help me out?

I've done a fair bit of research on the net, but can't find everything i need. I'm also going to be attending race meets when the racing season starts back up in an attempt to have a chat with some teams, drivers etc.

I've managed to gather the Britcar regulations and some stuff on scrutineering, but there's afew bits that i'm struggling with. Here's a list of what i'm trying to get info. on;

-Regulations, e.g. modifications allowed, scrutineering, vehicles used, governing body, type's of licenses etc
-Costs, e.g. Entry costs, fuel, tyres etc
-Insurance
-Safety, e.g. If/when rollcages, fire extinguishers etc. are required

If anyone has any info and would like to share it with me i'd much appreciate it! I'm not trying to get other people to do my work btw, i'm just trying to gather the information so that i can write my 50 page report! Thanks a lot

We at Jemco Racing would be happy to help.....email your list of specific questions to me at andy.hancock@thedavisgroup.co.uk and I will see what we can do.

I would also seek the views of other teams, because many of your questions may have variables e.g insurance costs, budgets, types of cars etc etc

Governing body = MSA www.msauk.org
That may answer some questions, But just to let you know, rollcages and fire extinguishers are required in all forms of MotorRacing.
Licences for Britcar are I believe NatB minimum.
There will be a lot of both necessary and un-necessary information in the MSA Bue Book (the UK's rule book), this is available online.

Insurance, there are many motorsport insurance companies out there and many different coverages available.

There is a Media Day for EERC at Silverstone on March 24th, the 1st race meeting is the following day.
