Does anyone know how many 156 GTAs there are on the road in Britain?

It made me think the other day, when I saw a Ford GT on the motorway;- I've now seen more Ford GTs on the road than 156 GTAs!!!!!

Cheers,

Joe.

Hi guys

I have just joined - and have a 2003 Alfa Red 147 GTA manual with Montecarlo black leather.

I have always wondered how many of them there are in the UK - I have seen more 156 GTAs - and that's not many!

I have lurked here for a while - and it's a great site, so I thought I would finally join.

Cheers

Welcome! Given your username, you might be interested in McNab's profile; especially this car!

Wow! What are the chances of that!

What an amazing story - and an amazing C Type. And what a collection of cars too!

I'll have to update my profile with my previous cars - but it's nothing like as impressive as that!

I bought my 52 reg 156 GTA new three and a half years ago and have only ever seen one in a car park and one on the road, I now also have a maserati and see on average 2 a week in London so I guess GTA's are as rare as hens teeth.

Before I got my 147 GTA, I'd only ever seen 1 on the road, since I've had mine, not even a year yet, I've seen 4 others, odd!
Never seen a 156GTA on the road, but when I went to an Italian car day at Brooklands recently, there were 3 156 GTAs, I was the only 147 GTA.

Hi guys

I have seen 3 156 GTAs - 2 in Edinburgh, one red 52 plate and one black 53 plate. I also saw a silver one on the M8 to Glasgow, and I pulled along side him for a while and gave him a thumbs up. No response! Is there some kind of snobbery from 156 GTA owners which means they look down on 147 GTA owners

I have seen 2 other 147 GTAs - a silver one parks in my work car park which is cool (they do sound good being driven around an underground car park - sounds better outside the car), and a red one exactly the same as mine just beside where I live. Big thumbs up moment there!

Cheers Los Angeles!

I may pop over to Merchiston Mews at lunch time to soak up the atmosphere.

Cool collection of cars you have there. Do you have a TVR is the US? That must be very rare!

Its not that odd - I think its a psychological thing; you always seem to notice certain cars more when you actually own one yourself. Recently got a Volvo V70 and now can't seem to move for the damn things clogging up the road - I'm sure there weren't that many around before!

Not many in my experience! I've seen a red one around here occasionally, but none the same as my 04 reg one below. Bought new through PistonHeads 18 months ago
