I may be wrong on this question but I note that the 328 is sold mainly as the ABS Model but I have never seen the 348 Sold Secondhand in the ferrari Main Dealer within the UK during the past recent years.

Can anyone shed light on this please ?

Thanks.

Hi Pete,

You will occasionally see a low mileage spyder at a dealer, but you're right - I've not seen a 348 at a dealer for a long time. I guess the 328 is regarded more as a classic much mnroe than the 348.

However if you're looking for one, then I'd suggest speaking to the independents.
If you're certain about age / mileage / spec / colour etc then I'd speak to Carl at Verdis (or maybe ring round a few of the well regarded independents in your area) - they may well know of cars that will be up for sale shortly...

I still love the 348 - have a painful relationship with them though as bought one aged 25, lost my job the next day so never took delivery - got myself a fiesta instead(!).....

I believe Dale had his mint garage queen 348 targa up for sale at PJ Evans , but then again he does work there and it was probably just an excercise for keeping her warm during the winter months

hehe - well if it wasn't for that job loss I'd probably still be hiding out in an industrial estate in bracknell. In the end I don't regret it too much, but it was very painful having to go back to the dealership and let 'my' ferrari go.

Still in hindsight it wasn't the nicest 348 - and only 2 years later I ended up with the 3200 - so I'm not complaining

And I've still got the fiesta for emergencies

Dealers will tell you that that they are rubbish cars and don't sell. Which of course I crap. Most salesman have probably never even sat in one let alone driven one.

I think it's more to do with the fact that there are'nt too many good ones around. Just compare how many are up for sale on PH compared with 355/360's.

Prob very true - I saw a lot of pretty dodgy 348's before I found one that I was prepared to part with cash on.

Really want the black spyder that is up at verdis - only 4k on the clock it's probably still got the plastic on the seats

Lets chat on mail. However - I've seen spyders go for as low at 29k - didn't have <5k dry miles only on it though!

I would figure that the car is at Verdis on SOR (haven't asked though) - so it will be more a case of what the owner has demanded for their baby if this is the case.

I had a phonecall from Dale the other day, he's still selling the car and you will not find a 348 in better condition.

I sold plenty of used 348 s in the 90s from a main dealership, even then we tried to avoid the early cars as the prep costs were massive to bring them up to main agent standard, so often not a worth while exercise, great cars though, although I prefer my 328!!!

Grey Paul in Nottingham sell used 328s and 348s. Here are two that was for sale just before christmas, a 328 and a black 348. Also they always have TRs in as well as regular 348s. http://img257.imageshack.us/my.php?image=greypaul023 http://img440.imageshack.us/my.php?image=greypaul022

I bet it's the same oil. I heard he takes it out, adds a bit of Zymol to it and puts it back in.
