Ok, If you had the choice which one would you go for?

The GT500 is out possibly in the Summer with 475bhp and is a tried and recognised car. The Saleen comes in a 425 bhp guise.

Saleen is available now.

I am not sure which one to go for?

In terms of the decision to buy a Saleen, Roush or Ford Shelby GT500 car I would pick the Ford every time.

One of the American mags reviewed the Saleen and questioned whether it actually made any more power than standard, the Roush cars are good but do not offer all of the goodies that the Ford Shelby GT500 has.

In terms of driving enjoyment and long term values I would be confident that the Ford is also the car to have.

The only question in my mind would be what should you do to advance up the almost certainly extremely long waiting list.

Gavin,

My heart tells me to place an order and wait for the GT but I must admit, the Saleen just 'looks' like the GT should. More aggressive in my eyes.
I think the clincher for me would be resale values. I am not sure what backup Ford Uk would give the GT500, the only thing I get with my F150 Harley is a basic service of oil and filter change. If I need anything else such as pads etc. then I source and they fit. As to covering things under warranty, they wont even get into discussion.

Anyone know whether the GT500 will be an official import albeit in LHD guise?

Spoke toa few importers and the expected due date is September.

Either that or I go for the Charger SRT 8..... ;(
