I have been trading on E-Bay as a Power Seller for many years and NEVER had one negative or even neutral feedback. 100% through and through.

Can anyone advise me of this.

Just sold a brand new, still in original packaging designed top from a batch of about 25 which I purchased from a reputable supplier. Buyer has left negative feedback simply saying FAKE ITEM.

Now, I know this item to be 100% genuine.

Have emailed the buyer twice requesting that they ring me to discuss the matter. You guessed it, no reply yet. Their phone is ex-directory and they are fairly new to E-Bay with not much feedback themselves.

I religously protect me 100% record and want to resolve this matter to get it reinstated.

Have drawn a total blank with E-Bay. They do not even have a phone number.

Any ideas?

It's crap but just live with it. No one really cares about one bit of negative feedback out of hundreds.

It's probably a business rival...

Wouldn't put it past them. It is crap luck but not worth getting annoyed about. Just put a rebuttal next to it, saying 'genuine item, buyer being malicious'

Agreed.

I've got over 550 positives ... and 1 negative.

The 1 negative was a plate, which I very very clearly advertised as being scratched.

The buyer left negative feedback saying - "Item not as described. Item was scratched"

I went back to the description afterwards to check that I'd accidently added the word 'not' into the descrption - but nope - it was 100% exactly as described.

You can post a reply to the negative for everyone to see, to clarify the situation, but at the end of the day - eBay don't care.

You can respond to the feedback in your profile.

Nobody will care one bit about this, you obviously have a very good feedback history so forget it - you're not going to lose any trade.

i buy a lot from ebay but would not be put off if someone had 500 excellent and one bad (only when it gets to 5 or more bad will i avoid really)

however, you can appoint someone at ebay to act on your behalf to get it removed (sorry, dont remember what it's called, but I think it was free) - someone left me unjustified feedback once (and I was buying!) and they had a middle-man at ebay who sorted out any dispute/removed negative feedback etc..

try going onto ebay (us not uk) for you can go into a live forum where their customer services can instantly answer questions (rather than the uk one which is crap!)

Contacting Ebay through the website is possible, they will even remove the feedback if they feel it is justified. I know, I got some removed myself from an idiot that didn't pay after winning 3 items from me !!

It is buried away, but it's there

I have a positive 99.99% feedback of 693, the one negative was a genuine mistake that the buyer admitted on the follow up reply......

I believe you can get the feedback withdrawn mutally, but hardly worth the bother....

Costs £15 to get it removed via Squaretrade - used to be free.

Forget it - Ebay is full of nutters and sharks but there are still gold nuggats in amongst the mountains of crap. Just like everything else in life really.

I've just checked out his profile. He's either a natural comedian or a raving lunatic.

I sold a book to a to55er from Hungary, quoted the carriage before the sale - it took 10 mails to get it across to this chap. He won the sale and then said he would post the cash after he looked at others - I am Paypal only and it is clearly written in all my adverts. After that he said he was interested in other books I had, frankly at this point I had had enough and did not want to have anything further to do with him. I could not face trying to agree carriage charges for the others. To cut a long story short I barred him from bidding on any of my other sales and filed a NPD on the original one.
He got the hump, got a new account and bid and ended all my other sales(11) on BIN and left me negative on each one of the sales. Obviously he had no intention of paying for any of them.

Ebay would not remove the feedback he left but cancelled his accounts and the negative. In other words the feedback he left is still there but it does not count and I still have 100%.

fleabays feedback system is deeply flawed. and they have no real interest in helping users who have received negative feedback..

i paid for an item within about 2 minutes of winning it, but no feedback was left by the seller, 2 months later i still hadnt received the item and got no communication from the seller so i got a refund through paypal and left some negative feedback. (after informing the seller i was about to) it was only then he left some negative feedback for me! despite doing everything i could to make the transaction smooth. it still wrankles a bit, but as the guys here have said you have to bite that bullet and forget it.

now, if i buy somthing and dont get feedback straight away, i refuse to leave anything for the seller once the transaction is done. i think these people hold back and use the feedback system as a revenge type thing.. not that ebay cares...

My sister had this problem with some boots she sold on there. The lady who won the bid said that they "didn't fit" even though my sister stated the size quite clearly on the ad, and this lady was a walrus. My sister did successfully complain to E-Bay and had her 100% rating re-instated, but only after a lot of hassle.

Perhaps the car they spotted them on has gone out of the area and they haven't been able to nick them yet.

I hate the way they nearly always retaliate - i have had over 3 years of happy buying and selling on ebay - but before xmas i bought an item for £6, it hasnt been sent and you guessed it no reply after 4 mails. its so annoying, its only £6 its not going to do me any good leaving negative feedback infact its only going to do me harm as he will retaliate! - its the principle of the thing, hes obviously not a con man from his feedback so why would be risk a negative over £6?!!

tip - you can only leave feedback 90 days after a transaction - so leave it until the 90th day and hopefully by the time they realise they will have missed the opportunity. - again not that theres anything to be gained.
